This is a prime wild venison steak for flash frying or quick grilling.
.We offer two steak weights
- a 125 g steak (4 ounce steak) - we cut the loin to produce steaks which are approx 3/4 inch to 1 inch deep x 2 inches long (flat cylindrical shape)
- a 250 g steak (an 8 ounce steak) - we cut the loin to produce steaks which are approx 3/4 inch to 1 inch deep x 4 inches long. This is a longer steak than the 125 g steak, but still a flat cylindrical shape.
Alternatively if you are looking for an even larger steak, we suggest you buy a full Venison Loin (700 g) and slice it into steaks to suit your appetite.
These steaks are cut from the full loin of wild Sika deer, which is the smallest breed of wild deer. The loin is the main long cylindrical muscle along the back of the deer. A full Sika venison loin is approximately 2-2.5 inches wide and 8-9 inches long x 1 inch deep - each loin weighs between 450 g and 700 g depending on the size of the deer. It is much smaller than a beef fillet, so the steaks cut from the loin will also be thinner and narrower than beef fillet steak, although the weight of steak you order will of course be provided.
